Exam pattern

A qualifying Punjabi paper, then the paper that counts.

  • An objective multiple-choice written exam in two parts.
  • Part A is a Punjabi language paper at matriculation standard. It is qualifying only, and you must score at least 50%.
  • Part B is the subject paper and decides the merit list. Each question carries one mark, and a quarter mark is deducted for a wrong answer.
  • Clerk posts add a typing test at 30 words per minute in English and Punjabi, taken on computer with the Unicode Raavi font. It is qualifying only.

Roll numbers, the syllabus and further instructions are published on the board's website rather than sent to candidates individually.
