Eligibility
A J&K domicile, the trade qualification, and age on 1 January 2026.

Ex-servicemen may deduct their service from their age, provided the result is within three years of the limit. A valid J&K domicile certificate is mandatory, and the qualification and category certificate must be held by the cut-off date.

Exam pattern
Objective questions in English, with negative marking.
- The written exam is objective, multiple choice, and set in English only.
- Selection is on merit in the written OMR exam alone.
- The syllabus will be notified separately on jkssb.nic.in.
Negative marking
A quarter of a question's marks is deducted for each wrong answer.
