The Haryana Public Service Commission published Advertisement No. 25/2026 on 19 September 2026 for 45 posts of Food Safety Officer (Group B) in the Food and Drugs Administration Department.

Two posts are reserved horizontally for ex-servicemen (general) and two for persons with disabilities — one for low vision and one for deaf or hard of hearing. One SC post covers a shortfall carried into this requisition. The Commission notes the number may rise or fall with government requirements.

Eligibility
A science degree in a listed discipline, plus Hindi or Sanskrit.
A bachelor's, master's or doctoral degree from a recognised university in one of the disciplines the advertisement lists, including:
- Food technology, in any of eleven named branches — food engineering, food processing and preservation, food biotechnology, food safety and quality management and others.
- Dairy technology, biotechnology or oil technology.
- Agricultural science, including agriculture, agriculture engineering, dairy technology, fisheries, food technology, food nutrition and dietetics, or horticulture.
- Veterinary sciences, bio-chemistry, microbiology, chemistry or medicine.
- MBBS, BDS, BHMS, BUMS, BSMS, BAMS or Sowa Rigpa, or another equivalent qualification notified by the Food Authority.
You also need Hindi or Sanskrit as a subject at matriculation, or Hindi in higher education. The training the Food Safety and Standards rules require is given after appointment, and a candidate with a financial interest in the manufacture, import or sale of any food article cannot be appointed.
