The Gujarat Subordinate Service Selection Board has advertised 131 posts of Staff Nurse, Class-3, under the Director of the Employees' State Insurance Scheme, within the Health and Family Welfare Department. Advertisement No. 458/2026-27 is dated 28 September 2026.

Eligibility

A nursing qualification recognised by the council, and age up to 35.

  • A B.Sc. in Nursing from a UGC-recognised university, or a diploma in General Nursing and Midwifery, from an institution recognised by the Gujarat Nursing Council or the Indian Nursing Council.
  • Basic computer knowledge, and knowledge of Gujarati or Hindi.
  • Registration with the nursing council at the time of appointment.

Age (as on 12 October 2026)

Between 18 and 35 years. General-category women and reserved-category men get five years more, up to 40; reserved-category women get ten, up to 45; and ex-servicemen get their service period plus three years. Candidates already in Gujarat government service may have the upper limit relaxed under the state's classification and recruitment rules.

  • Multiple-choice questions; you must score at least 40% in each paper separately.
  • A quarter of a mark is deducted for each wrong answer.
  • Merit is drawn category-wise on the combined marks, and about twice the number of posts are called for document verification.

The application fee is ₹500 for unreserved candidates and ₹400 for reserved candidates, paid online and not refunded.
