Overview
Stenographer posts in the High Court, selected through four stages.
The High Court of Delhi is filling 117 Senior Personal Assistant and 33 Personal Assistant posts, both Group B. Online applications opened at 11 AM on 15 September 2026 and close at 11 PM on 5 October 2026.
Selection is skill-heavy: an English typing test, English shorthand, a descriptive English paper and a short interview. Every stage must be cleared, and no candidate is exempted from the typing or shorthand tests.

Seven SPA posts and three PA posts are reserved horizontally for persons with benchmark disabilities in the categories the notice lists. There is no General-category vacancy for Personal Assistant, and each post needs a separate application and fee.
OBC certificates from outside Delhi
OBC reservation is given only to candidates whose caste is recognised as OBC in Delhi. A certificate issued outside Delhi, or for a caste not on Delhi's list, does not qualify.

Eligibility
A degree plus shorthand and typing speeds, by 5 October 2026.

Age (as on 1 January 2026)
Between 18 and 32 years: born between 2 January 1994 and 1 January 2008. The upper limit is relaxed by 5 years for SC and ST, 3 years for OBC-NCL, and 10 years for PwBD (more for PwBD in reserved categories). Regular employees of the Delhi High Court have no upper age limit; employees of other departments, including Delhi District Courts, do not get this relaxation.
Category certificates must be issued on or before 5 October 2026.

₹1,500, or ₹1,300 for SC, ST and eligible PwBD candidates.

Selection process
Four stages; typing only qualifies, the rest add up.

The final merit list adds the marks from Stages II, III and IV. The main exam has a minimum qualifying mark; it is 45% for reserved and PwBD candidates. Ties go to the higher Stage II marks, then Stage III, then Stage IV, then the older candidate.
No scribe or extra time
Because of the nature of the work, there is no scribe or compensatory time at any stage, including for PwBD candidates.
