Overview
Railway clerical posts open to Class 12 pass candidates.
CEN 07/2026 covers the Non-Technical Popular Categories at undergraduate level — Commercial cum Ticket Clerk, Junior Clerk cum Typist, Accounts Clerk cum Typist and Trains Clerk. The indicative notice lists 1,688 tentative vacancies at Levels 2 and 3.
Applications are to run from 15 October to 13 November 2026 on rrbapply.gov.in, with the detailed CEN expected shortly before they open.

Eligibility
Class 12, with age counted on 1 January 2027.
Undergraduate-level NTPC posts need a Class 12 pass or equivalent from a recognised board. Typist posts also need typing proficiency, tested at the skill test stage. RRB notices count age on 1 January of the following year, and the detailed CEN gives the band for each post along with the relaxations for SC, ST, OBC, PwBD and ex-servicemen candidates.

Application fee
The standard RRB fee, mostly refunded if you sit the CBT.

Selection process
Two CBTs, then a typing test where the post needs one.

Marks are normalised across shifts, and shortlisting for each stage is done RRB by RRB. The detailed CEN sets question counts, duration and negative marking.
