Overview

30 officer posts at India's pension regulator, with both exam dates already fixed.

PFRDA, the regulator for the National Pension System, is recruiting 30 Officers in Grade A (Assistant Manager) across four streams: General, Research, Actuary and Official Language (Rajbhasha). Advertisement No. 03/2026 was published on 3 September 2026, and applications close on 24 September 2026.

Unlike most recruitments, both written exams already have dates: Phase I on 15 October and Phase II on 20 November 2026. That leaves about four weeks between the application deadline and the first paper.

Two of the General stream posts are reserved horizontally for persons with benchmark disabilities: one for blindness and low vision, one for deaf and hard of hearing. You may apply to at most two streams, with a separate application and fee for each.

Eligibility

Age up to 30, and a stream-specific qualification on 31 July 2026.

Age limit

You must not be older than 30 on 31 July 2026, which means born on or after 1 August 1996. The upper limit is relaxed by up to 5 years for SC and ST, 10 years for PwBD (13 for OBC and 15 for SC/ST where posts are reserved for them), and 5 years for ex-servicemen. OBC relaxation applies as set out in the advertisement.

Candidates awaiting final results may sit all three phases, but any offer depends on producing proof of the qualification in time. Working knowledge of MS Word and Excel is expected.

Phase I has separate cut-offs for each paper and an aggregate cut-off. Its marks only shortlist candidates for Phase II.

Negative marking and a hidden gate

A quarter of a question's marks is deducted for each wrong answer in both Phase I papers and in Phase II Paper 2. The descriptive Paper 1 of Phase II is marked only for candidates who clear the qualifying mark in Paper 2.

Questions are bilingual (Hindi and English) except the English tests. Candidates equal to five times the vacancies are called for interview.

Selection process

Phase II counts 85%, the interview 15%.

Final selection uses Phase II marks at 85% weightage and interview marks at 15%. Phase I marks are not carried forward.
